McNeilus Presents New Sustainable Innovations in 2015

Meridian

The Fiscal Year of 2015 was a year of innovation at McNeilus. After listening to feedback from our customers, we developed a new McNeilus Meridian Front Loader. This new vehicle has a lift-arm capacity of up to 10,000 pounds and the controls on demand environment (CODE) system. The CODE system provides user-friendly diagnostics and troubleshooting capabilities and a joystick for greater ergonomic and operator ease. Other key features of the new Meridian include a flat body floor, an enclosed sidewall panel for electric components to make serviceability easier and a clear headframe for simpler access to hydraulic and electrical components.

Additionally, we continued the production of our next generation (NGEN) compressed natural gas (CNG) systems for all of our vehicles. Specific upgrades in 2015 included enhanced fill efficiency, plumbing optimization, and best-in-class service and support. The NGEN fuel delivery system now has up to 30 percent and the number of connections by 50 percent.

We also introduced an organics package for all McNeilus rear loader vehicles. This new feature, which can be retrofitted to existing trucks, allows our customers to recycle organic materials such as food waste. As more and more communities, restaurants and food manufacturers are separating food waste, we worked with them to better manage their waste streams through use of this product innovation. The organics package captures and contains liquids common to food and organic waste with a drain port for easy disposal. Providing our customers with means to recycle food waste instead of it going to a landfill is just one way we are making a difference.
